Appointments
How long are podiatry appointments?
Initial appointments are up to 45 minutes with subsequent routine appointments lasting up to 30 minutes. Some treatments and/or assessments take longer but will be discussed at your initial appointment if this is required.
Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
We do accept GP referrals but anyone can refer themselves for treatment. Please be aware that some insurance policies require your GP to authorise treatment so please check if a GP referral is needed if you have private medical insurance
What happens at the first appointment?
At your first appointment at Soft Soles Holistic Podiatry, you will be asked to fill in a confidential medical history form, so it is best to arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment.
Whilst the content of this form may seem irrelevant for some, without it, the podiatrist cannot assess, diagnose (where appropriate) and treat according to your individual needs. You would be surprised the things we ask!
However, the smallest detail is often relevant so we would appreciate full discloser of all medical history.
Our receptionist will be happy to scribe for you should you need assistance. Please also bring with you a list of any medication you may be taking, including any supplements and/or complementary medicaments to add to the form (the receptionist can photocopy this from a repeat prescription if this is easier for you).
Within the first appointment, an initial review of your form, discussion of your problem and initial assessments will be conducted. Once this has been carried out, the podiatrist will discuss a proposed management plan with you. Once you are happy and if/where time allows, treatment will commence. In most cases, treatment is carried out on the first appointment.
Initial Assessment Questionnaire
10 mins before appointment
Please download and print our initial assessment questionnaire which will comprise your confidential medical history file, This will help you help Yourpodiatrist to assess, diagnose (where appropriate) and treat your feet according to your individual needs. Thank you
On average, we treat about ten new patients a day in addition to attending to our existing clients (not including domicilary visits to nursing and care home and private residents.)
We want you to be one of our special clients. We will give you our complete focus whilst you are with us - please read through the information below and download/complete our forms where required

Timeliness
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early for your appointment to allow for a medical form to be completed.
Medication
Please bring along a list of any prescription medicines you currently take. Your initial consultation and treatment may take a little longer, please allow 30-40 minutes.
Foot Pain Assessments
Foot pain assessments are available in clinic, please wear loose fitting trousers or bring shorts to change into. You can book an appointment by contacting Jo on 07975 828 976 who will be happy to make arrangements for you.
New patients will be assessed according to their medical and podiatric need using priority criteria. An appropriate treatment plan will be created according to the patient’s medical and podiatric needs which will be agreed upon by the podiatrist and the client. If required appropriate follow up care will be arranged by the podiatrist.
What are your payment terms?
Payment is made after each consultation either by cheque, cash, or major debit/credit card.
If you have private medical insurance we can provide you with a receipt so that funds can be claimed back by you. As previously mentioned, some insurance policies require your GP to authorise treatment. Please contact your insurance provider prior to arranging your appointment to check your policy details.
What is our cancellation policy?
Please be aware that we reserve the right to make a charge of £20 per 30 minute appointment for failed appointments and cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment.
